Nebraska football 9/11 tribute features former Navy SEAL walk-on linebacker
Former Navy SEAL and Nebraska football player Damian Jackson joins ‘Fox & Friends’ to discuss the emotional video honoring first responders ahead of the September 11 anniversary.
Former New England Patriots defend Joe Andruzzi and his own family had been closely impacted by means of the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
Andruzzi – a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Patriots – had three brothers who had been New York City firefighters and his father become a New York City policeman. Andruzzi’s brother Jimmy became a first responder at the north tower while the south tower collapsed.
He informed ESPN again in 2011 that he made it down from the 27th ground with little time to spare.

Following the attacks, the Andruzzi brothers and father served as captains for the Patriots’ game against the New York Jets on Sept. 23, 2001.

"I didn’t think they’d be up for it — [and] they weren’t at first," Andruzzi stated on "The Zach Gelb Show" last yr. "They didn’t want any exposure for themselves, particularly my brother who become in the tower. He had a warfare with survivor’s guilt, regret, and it became a totally hard time for him. Just being by means of his side and supporting him via that.
"I talked to him and I stated, ‘God didn’t take you that day. God chose you to do extra in this Earth.’ I said, ‘I don’t care if you go out there. You’re standing available and representing an entire lot more humans than you may ever imagine.’"
Andruzzi recalled that there have been two American flags taped at the wall while the Patriots were heading out of the tunnel. He stated that he ripped them off and carried them whilst he ran out onto the field. To at the moment, Andruzzi’s gesture serves as one of the most memorable publish-9-11 tributes in all of sports activities.

The Jets defeated New England, 10-3. The Patriots fell to zero-2 at the season, but they controlled to complete with an eleven-five record and they gained the Super Bowl that season led via quarterback Tom Brady.
