MLB umpire was hit in the face by a wayward toss throughout a game Monday night in between the New York Mets and also the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor hit a lining towards Cardinals shortstop Edmundo Sosa in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Sosa transferred to his left to corral the ball and twirled to throw it toward initial base. The ball, however, never ever got to initial base and also rather hit umpire Junior Valentine in the head.

Valentine appeared to be OK after the incident and also stayed in the game.
